SIMPSON BAY LAGOON
St. Maarten / St. Martin is volcanic in origin, and local legend has it that Simpson Bay Lagoon is all that remains of the ancient island volcano's crater.

And today the Lagoon's tranquil waters are loaded with a variety of fish! So, plentiful in fact that they practically jump in your boat!

The mullets are roughly 12-14" long and grayish, and quite abundant. Mullet Bay, is actually named for them. You'll also see barracuda, which can be quite feisty and a lot of fun to hook and battle. You'd better let your drag out on your reel though because they are quite strong! The biggest fish you're likely to see are tarpons, which can be five feet long and swim in large schools. You will also see puffer fish, bone fish, small spiny lobsters and an enormous number of starfish of every color and size!

We provide fishing rods at no extra cost. No fishing license is required.

Unlike the deep sea fishing excursions available, this "do it yourself" fishing package is inexpensive and lot's of fun!!

11 FOOT BOSTON WHALER
We have 11 foot Boston Whalers with bimini shades and 25 Hp 4 stroke engines available for smaller parties wishing to stay in the Lagoon.

(1-4 person capacity/up to 600 lbs): private rental
$50 / hour + fuel
1/2 day (up to 3 hours) = $100 + fuel
Full day (over 3 hours) = $150 + fuel

16 FOOT BOSTON WHALER
We also have a larger 16ft Boston Whaler with a bimini shade and 90 Hp 4 stroke engine for more experienced boaters, or available with a Captain for the day. Destinations can be beyond the Lagoon and can include Tintamarre Island and Pinel Island. The boat is equipped with snorkel gear and cooler, and can take six guests on a private day of exploration around the coast.

(6 person capacity): private rental
$100 / hour + fuel
1/2 day (up to 3 hours) = $300 + fuel
Full day (over 3 hours) = $500 + fuel
With Captain $150 / hour + fuel (includes Rum Punch, Snacks, Snorkel & Masks)
